At-home euthanasia provides several benefits:

  • Comfort and Familiarity: At-home pet euthanasia allows you to honor your pet’s life with love and compassion during their final moments. Pets are in a familiar environment, surrounded by their loved ones. Reduced stress and anxiety compared to a clinic setting.

  • Personalized Experience: Tailored to your pet’s needs and your family’s emotional well-being. More time for goodbyes and peaceful moments.

  • Less Travel and Waiting: No stressful car rides or waiting rooms. Dr. Conway comes to your home at a scheduled time.

The Process:

  • Consultation: Conway first discuss your pet’s condition and quality of life. She will explain the process and allow you time to ask questions and explain your wishes.

  • Euthanasia: Dr. Conway can administer a sedative to relax your pet if needed. Dr. Conway will place an IV catheter in your pets leg which allows you to hold your pet as it falls asleep and passes away peacefully.

  • Aftercare: Owners may elect to bury their deceased pet or choose cremation – private with return of ashes or communal.

Dr. Conway can assist with options for this stage. Dr. Conway recommends three crematoriums: Rainbow Bridge, Peaceful Valley and Agape Pet Services. Dr Conway can arrange for transport for your pet if you choose Agape for cremation. Some owner’s may prefer to take their pets themselves to the crematorium to say their final goodbyes.
